About the Pediatric ITP Consortium

Our Mission

Research on rare disorders such as pediatric immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) can only advance with the collaboration of physicians and investigators from multiple centers. ICON is a collaborative research effort that is dedicated to improving the understanding, treatment, and quality of life of pediatric patients with ITP.

Boston Children’s Hospital serves as the coordinating study center for these efforts and provides both infrastructure and technical support. Through ICON, clinicians and researchers interested in pediatric ITP work together to initiate and conduct collaborative studies and disseminate information about ITP.

ICON is led by our Operations Committee, which is responsible for oversight of the Biology Studies Committee, Interventional Studies Committee, Patient Outcomes Committee, and Quality Improvement Committee. The Steering Committee includes all voting members of the consortium who oversee the consortium bylaws and data sharing.

ICON is pleased to be partners and work in collaboration with the Platelet Disorder Support Association (PDSA).
